Dear Student! Now is the proper time to participate in the InnoMaraton-event which would have long lasting effects on your future by improving your skills and giving you precious experience. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to use your full capacity and develop your ideas on real commissions together with other students. In the case of your future employment, the contacts made with local companies in the InnoMaraton-event will also come in handy!
Here you are free to take a look around and participate in the project which gives you and all the other students an opportunity to develop and make use of the knowledge, skills and most of all the creativity that you posses in the field of education you study in. In the event you will face challenging tasks that might come in handy in your future employment! Of course, taking part in the InnoMaraton will benefit you even during your studies in forms of academic credits and in finding a practical training place. Not to mention the most important part, which is the valuable and unique experience you get in this event, where you make new contacts with companies and people with different educational backgrounds.
So, what is the InnoMaraton-event all about? Local companies give multitalented-teams assignments to brainstorm and develop further products and services on a topic that is set beforehand. The time, which is reserved for developing and refining ideas, is one week (5 days). At the end of the week, teams will present their final product and service ideas to a jury. The jury consists of respected persons from different lines of business who have strong professional skills and experience in their own profession. The winning team gets an Innovation-stipend worth 1000 euros!
Originally, InnoMaraton-project was born in response to increase co-operation between students and local entrepreneurs. In the year 2006, the InnoMaraton-event received attention from the Prime Minister of Finland, Matti Vanhanen, whose one project was to find out what kind of regional company- and innovation activities there were. Although the project has had great results in these past two years, this is all just the beginning!
